2nd graders are creating rhythm patterns by combining individual notes (on colored cards) to create 8 full beats. Then they are adding movement to help illustrate the rhythms. The children are so creative!

Kindergarten students have been exploring the concept of high and low. They have created their own compositions for mouth sounds and percussion instruments. Check out these 'sound charts' they developed. The pieces read from left to right, just like reading a book. Placement high or low on the chart indicates using high or low sounds, just like on a musical staff. The size of the pictures indicated the volume, and the spacing indicates rhythm - items spaced close together sound quickly.
